Children would often scurry along in their mum's arms whenever their uncle and dad would join forces calling themselves "pirates" as they continuously yell "YARR, GIVE ME YE TREASURE!"
Well darlings, you have a long way to go if you think pirates are just some fictional character off of Peter Pan
The greatest heist in history by the one and only
The KING of Pirates
named
Henry Avery.
and of course without the help of his lovely ally, Thomas Tew , he couldn't have been the richest pirate of all.
short story short
Thomas Tew: no confirmed biography with any strong evidence. He apparently was married and had 2 daughters and 2 daughters. 1692, he gained his own ship, named Amity, sailed with 46 ish men.
Stumbled upon Henry and BAM!
Henry Avery!
He was once working for England's Royal Navy for a year [1689-1690]. Around 1693 Charles II got Henry as his first mate and of course, no declining to that of such large opportunity
anyways, shit got screwed over, failures happened, they didn't receive any letter of marque [letter that authorizes a person/group of people to attack and capture other ships] from Madrid
so Henry Avery took over the ship, named it Fancy and sailed seas
Wouldn't it be such a sight seeing men waving swords fighting for treasure and pride, as big cannons shoot from below a ship
There would probably be stacks on stacks on stacks of dead men but still the idea of such medieval way of fighting and PIRATES! it's absolutely interesting.
Fancy, Henry's ship, sailed to Comoros Islands, taking over French vessels, escaped east indian men,
allied with a few more ships and full on faced 25 vessels yeS 25 VESSELS
of course in these allies, were Thomas Tew
now, Thomas had 50 -65 ish men and that is a lot to say the least, now before this alliance he had already kept a few treasures whereas in pirate world, if the owner is dead, anyone could possibly claim the remaining treasures
and yes, Thomas died during battle, including tons of the other men who fought by their side
leaving the few that lived, and Henry Avery, to claim the remaining treasures.
Henry succeeded in defeating enemies and lead Henry in completely losing his mind, the crew raped women, tortured people, which got the captives into committing suicide, stabbing themselves and jumping off the ship, rather than meeting the same fate as to those who died of rape and torture.
So of course, the enemies where rather salty because they lost men and treasures and so the Privy Council and the East India Company demanded they'd be hunted down
and man! He was literally hunted worldwide! Henry caused the largest manhunt in all of history.
but sometimes, not everyone gets to take a win,
They've succeeded in capturing the crew of Henry, but never getting a hold of the man himself.
Up till now, historians haven't confirmed whereas his remains are left, or where he lived after escaping the hunt.
If you ask me, he probably lived in an isolated area where no human should be, probably some island of sorts? or somewhere deep in the jungle?
We'll never know what happened to him but, his blood and genes may have been passed on.
Whether he had kids, or had a wife, or died a unbelievable death bathing in riches.
I can assure you he lived life hanging off a cliff
Well, if there's anything you'd learn from this, not everything is true and not everything is false
Pirates are true! maybe in a few years we'd confirm human mutilation and form some sort of half human half horse mixture!
((or maybe this just caught your eye because you played uncharted 4 and you were like
OH YES HENRY AND THOMAS THEY POISONED THEIR ALLIES FOR TREASURE AND KILLED EACH OTHER HIDING THE REST OF THE TREASURES IN LIBERTALIA
but apparently there aren't any strong evidences yet but maybe Libertalia exists?! oh my I HAVE TOO MUCH QUESTIONS))
Who knows? maybe Pirate blood runs within you?
Maybe William Kidd's? Maybe even Thomas'? Or maybe, the Pirate king's blood itself?

Well aye captian.....carry on then....
Replymany more captains were well known around 14th century to 17th century
pirates were such a big thing back then that they even had an era called "The Golden Age of Piracy"
and very few women made it such as Mary Read, Anne Bonny,
although in their times women were nothing more than just another item on the shopping list
which is what makes them so unique and strong willed
the two mentioned women were actually more bloodthirsty than the rest of the crew and also Anne started joining pirates around her 16 years as she romantically ran away with Jack Rackham "Calico"
whereas Mary Read was within the same crew hidden as a male named "Mark Read"
Jack began an affair with Anne. She then had a divorce with his husband to join Jack instead. Not to mention Ching Shih the baddest bitch in the sea
she lead 300 ships with more than 20,00 men on board
yes and a woman lead them all
and she fought EMPIRES
from British, Portugese, and even the Qing dynasty!
though from other sources, she apparently lead more ships than 300
though she is one of the very few that retired piracy at around 1810 in place of leading her own gambling place because Chinese governs had offered amnesty and she acceptedthere are much much more captains and pirates than have taken my attention such as such as Edward "Blackbeard" Teach, Bartholomew Roberts, Francis Drake I, Henry Morgan and much much much more!
