So I have a history of anxiety and pretty bad social anxiety. It's always been inconsistent, like some days were better than other but the bad days were awful. But lately it's like I don't feel it anymore? Like I feel like I should be anxious but I don't experience my usual symptoms. It's so disorienting because I'll be in a situation that usually triggers me but I'm fine. But then they're other times where I do have symptoms and attacks. I just hate the feeling of not feeling my anxiety fully because it's only confusing me more and making it worse than actually experiencing anxiety. And it's not like I think my anxiety is getting better because I'm still have in anxious episodes but it's just not consistent anymore which is just really messing me head up.

Anxiety is no fun. But try to zone in on why you dont feel anxiety and try to apply that every second. Reason why it feels so foreign to you is because you've built a new neurological pathway and your just unfamiliar in walking in that. Familiarize yourself with that pathway and try to enjoy it.
ReplyAnxiety is not triggered by circumstances in your life. It is your body's reaction to you harboring unhealthy thoughts. You being anxious about not feeling anxious is a good example. All thoughts come and go. Their arrival does not make them legit or your creation. Some leave so fast you hardly notice because you offered nothing - no attention, no added story or meaning, no emotional response. Some stay and return often because you offered all of this.
There are ways to manage your reaction to thoughts so that you energize the ones you want and starve the ones you don't.
