Don't force yourself if you don't like it
ReplyI like it and that is the problem here. But every time I try to, my heartbeat raises and I just can't talk.
ReplyI don't know if you are getting therapy, taking meds, etc. But. I know a few things that have worked really well for me and might work for you too. First off, fixing up my appearance helped a lot, which would give me less things to worry about that I thought people would stare at. It was soooo much easier to go out in public once I started putting more effort into my appearance instead of not caring as much. Second, try to interact with as many people as you can. (you don't have to do this yet if you don't want to, but it can really build up your confidence) It can be as simple as saying hi to a random stranger as you pass them, or walking up to someone to ask where the bathroom is (even if you already know). You can start off by just asking a simple question to someone you notice is also sitting alone, or even just responding in full sentences to a cashier that's trying to make a conversation. The point is, try to put yourself in situations where it's easy to talk to people. Talk to as many people as you can. Over time you will notice that a huge portion of your social anxiety subsided. I hope you found this atleast a little helpful lol, anyways hope you have a nice day!
