So my depression people we all know how it is. Those times where it hits you so hard it's really hard to get back up...I haven't been able to take care of myself in a while. I haven't been able to push myself to get up and shower, brush my teeth, brush my hair, clean my room, exercise, clean the house. My mind is telling me i'm so weak and lazy for being so incapable of these things and sitting in this bad energy only makes it harder to get back up. Especially with having parents who say you have nothing to be depressed about or "It's all in your head". I just need tips, something any help even little steps that can get me back on both feet.

TW // Abuse happened again
Back in the month of May I was beaten up by my mother. I remember screaming for help to our neighbors but they didn't come to help. I really thought I was about...
maybe i can help...
It's all about the small victories. If you can't shower, change clothes. If you can't make yourself a sandwich, don't assemble the ingredients and just eat it separately. If you can't clean your house, start small, clean I counter. remember that you've got this, and make sure to be kind to yourself.
ReplyYou can try taking baby steps. That helps a lot. For example, telling yourself all you need to do today is get up and brush your teeth. And as you do that, you gradually add to those steps like taking a shower or cleaning.
Goal setting and planning really helps to where you work towards some type of accomplishment. I make myself do these things until it falls into a routine again. Implementing a reward system is also helpful. For example, I can only watch tv if I go clean my room. This doesn’t work for everybody though.
If you have anyone else to talk to about your feelings, that can help a lot too. It clears my head a lot. Maybe journaling your thoughts can help get some of that negative emotion out. You can even record some personal messages on your phone to let it out.
Wishing you the best! Stay strong.
