Dream Escape

I sit, hunched over my desk

Staring blankly at the paper in front of me

All my energy seemingly spent

Wanting nothing more than to flee

My dreary eyes slowly fall down

Shall escape into my dreams were nothing goes wrong?

Startled, I find you back from town

Embracing you I find no need for a dream escape, in your arms is where I belong

For a moment I wish for the embrace to never end

But that’s just silly

And there’s no need as there will be plenty more through times-end

Forevermore we shall be in each other presence, tranquilly

A breeze pushes through the window

My eyes open finding the paper in front of me

Your embrace gone leaving only endless sorrow

Yes, I think I will escape into my dreams where you’re waiting patiently
