just ask for some Pace picante sauce where ever you go and you will be just fine!
Replyi'm kidding. you might not get that joke.
seriously though, i was vehemently told that i had better not look anybody in the eye when i went to nyc. lol i'm not sure why everyone tried to drill this into my head. sounds kinda silly, right? everyone used that very deep stern authoritative voice on me too "you may not look at people in the eye." rah rah rah
so- of course i looked at everyone and smiled at them when i went. you know what happened? everyone was wonderful. they all wanted to know where i was from and all the little small talk that goes with it. everyone i spoke with was great and funny. they made me laugh. i didn't have a single negative experience. well, except one guy. he acted strange toward me, but his friends grabbed him and carried him away. lol i'm not sure what i said to upset him. maybe it was because i looked him in the eye? lol
hope you have fun!
ReplyHey I’m in jersey maybe 1hr away. It’s mostly safe in the lower part, from the south tip (Battery Park) up to Times Square and the south part of Central Park. But I wouldn’t venture too far north of that if it’s your 1st time. Stick to the business/arts district and you’ll have a blast!
ReplyWatch out for the fake Monks in Times Square. They will give you a cheap bracelet and get you to sign their book and give them lots of money. The money doesn't go to build some orphanage or temple in the hills, the dollar bills go straight into their pockets to pay for Xmas decorations on their mansions in Dyker Heights. Stay out of the green cycle lanes, these cyclists will break your legs with the speeds they are doing. Avoid CD sellers in Times Square, another rip-off. It's usually some Black rap crap that you've never heard of. The weed wagons sell fake weed in their cookies and always have an attractive young woman in the window to hook you suckers in. The cartoon characters in costumes in Times Square don't wash their costumes ever and will also relieve you of your cents. Don't bump into the scaffolding which line the sidewalks. It's just about everywhere. Pet dogs are allowed into stores. WTF. Avoid Penn Station, use Moynihan entrance/exit. Less chance of street trouble. Also avoid the Port Authority bus station. Women piss on the sidewalk just outside. Don't rely on the cops, worse than useless if mugged. The steam which arises from the streets is Covid 19 infused, courtesy of the New World Order. Vaccinations are useless for the New York strain of Covid 19 but if you wear 33 masks at the same time, you WILL be safe, according to the Freemasons. And if you want to know how to get to Carnegie Hall, practise, practise, practise.
ReplyMake sure to stay aware of your surroundings and travel with a buddy! Be sure to plan ahead and you'll be fine. Wear comfy shoes you will definitely walk a lot. And don't forget a portable charger! Have fun and stay safe!!
ReplyYou are going to have such a wonderful time!! As long as your not wandering alone late at night and sticking to the more tourist-y areas, you'll be just fine. If you're worried about feeling unsafe, pepper spray is cheap and easy to find-- check with your airlines to see if they allow you to travel with it.
have fun!! <33
