Recently I got a new job and after starting, I realized I'm actually replacing a former employee with the same role. Now, that's not a bad thing at all. I'm just curious whether I should ignore this information or address it like asking other co-workers about that person or trying to contact that person themselves. I do have a fear that my team will secretly compared me with that person especially my performance.

Rage against the machine
That's basically what the great resignation is. People are tired being over worked underpaid under valued when you're replaceable. I feel the people's feelings....

Don't worry about or care that anyone will compare you with the person. Just do the best that you can. I was at a job where the person who did the pays and other jobs was replaced twice and no one did any comparing at all. Actually, come to think of it I have never heard of this comparing before and I have had many jobs. Forget about this and have a very merry Christmas.
ReplyGive yourself a uniqueness which they can't ignore and they will not be able to define you in terms of what another has done.
