So i cant post this on a job website due to my contract. So I’m just going to mention it here. But i work at a recruiting company that starts with GoB_y___e. We help firms hire talents in the finance world. So people from investment banking to private equity and more.
The “company” is just the CEO and 1-3 recruiters regardless of what anything says. He gets his website done by contractors in India since its cheaper.
The CEO/Boss is a compulsive liar. He probably has some mental issues. Sense of inferiority toward his wife, narcissism, bipolar disorder. And none of it being treated. Whether you have holidays (Christmas eve, new years eve) off, depends on his mood. Same with if he wants to fire you or raise/decrease your pay. And how many hours as well.
The typical schedule is 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, 30 minute lunches. However, he will constantly shame you for not working outside the 50 hours per week. He will shame you for trying to take lunch breaks. And pay is 40k. No health benefits, no 401k. Just no benefits at all. There is a 10 pto. Which he may or may not even actually let you use tbh. He may raise it to 50k and based on his mood, he may drop it to 40k again. If you lucky you can get to 60k. Maybe higher. But i do want to mention as your pay gets higher, the more hours you may need to put in. Also factor in the mental health damage you will be receiving.
He is always threatening people, employees or candidates. There was this one candidate whos aunt got into a car accident and so she had to cancel her interview. The CEO emailed her telling her that her credentials basically suck and shes not worth the opportunity but since she got it she should be grateful. She responded saying she doesnt want to work with us anymore. Tbh i agree with her decision.
Within the firm, the CEO insults his own employees on the daily. Threatening to fire us, to not pay us, to decrease our pay, and a bunch of things. If we get things done, then its not good enough. He gives a substantial amount of stuff to do and it can’t be finished unless we do 60/70+ hours a week. And at 40/50k and no benefits, its not worth it imo. So if we dont finish it he threatens to pay us less or not at all.
He always says that our generation doesnt care about money and that we dont work hard. But it’s honestly a is it even worth it thing at this point.
He told someone he would pay her a bonus if she declined an offer she got elsewhere and she trusted him. He never delivered despite her meeting all the metrics. He didnt pay a girl for an entire months worth of work. He didnt pay another girl for 2 weeks worth of work. He lied to people about the job and expectations. Told someone it will be a financial analysis job when its 0 financial analysis and 100 recruiting.
If/when people leave he sends verbally abusive emails and threatens to sue them. Some included: you just want to live off your parents and dont want to work, you should get a refund for your degree cuz you don’t know anything, ill see you in court all fees are to be paid by you. Hes said things like: those two when they leave here will just be cashiers or something. They dont have the potential for a white collar job.
I go into work everyday with a pit in my stomach. I get nightmares and im just terrified of him. I have personally earned the firm 400,000-500,000 and have aided in at least 1-3 million during the 8months ive been here. Yet he treats me, my coworker, my ex-coworkers like crap.
He fired a girl the week of Christmas because she took two days off for Covid. He didnt let her do anything other than a specific task while she was here and got mad at her for doing things outside of that task.
He always gives unreasonable expectations and then yell at us/threaten us.
Our clients need to know there’s literally only 1 person recruiting for 30 jobs at once for each week. The other recruiter/my coworker is forced to focus on a separate task all week due to the boss’ unreasonable expectations.
Candidates need to know if we are bugging you an extreme amount, it is due to our boss/CEO, who may flip any second. If you have a bad experience where someone on our team is mean to you or said something insensitive, its 95% our boss.
