Can you get PTSD from being bullied? At times, I get very intense feelings about my experiences with bullying. Since it all happened (slowly over a span of two years), I can’t look at certain people or things without thinking about the bullying. One of the bullies, aside from getting physically violent at times, use to wait until I couldn’t get away (when I was on the floor strapping on sports gear) and then play a bunch of FNaF in front of me (if you don’t know what that is, you’re lucky). Now even though this happened almost three years ago, I’m still afraid to walk through dark hallways past midnight. I can’t look at any of the characters without panicking. If I see someone wearing one of those skins in a Minecraft game, I immediately try to kill them because I don’t want to have to look at them.
This really sounds like PTSD, but I’m not sure if it is. PTSD seems to be stress caused by events much more severe than bullying. If I’d been an Iraq veteran and saw a bunch of people die, maybe I’d definitely think I had PTSD. But it was just bullying. Traumatic as it was, I don’t know if it was traumatic enough for it to cause PTSD.

I failed today.
I failed today, it doesn't mean I'll fail tomorrow, it doesn't mean I'm a failure- it means I'm human. I had a bad moment, I experienced an emotional flash back...
I'm not very experienced, but this can define as PTSD. Usually, it requires more medical attention like panic attacks, dizziness, unreasonable fears, etc. But what you're feeling is definitely mild versions of all of them.
ReplyHey, It does seem like you are carrying on feelings from the trauma. PTSD is something that requires a diagnosis though so that you can get the best counselling and treatment based on its intensity and cause. I wish I could tell you definitely if it is, but i cant, but I can tell you that yes people who have been bullied however small or large can suffer from PTSD.
I would recommend talking to a professional about this. If not in person, theres even online therapy sessions now.
So, dont worry about getting help when you need it
But I would strongly advice talking to a professional as these feelings dont just go away
