Doesn't mean that people shouldn't make pregnancy jokes for April Fool. You're making it all about YOU. How is a joke that someone makes on a day of pranks an affront to you? It doesn't hurt you one bit if someone jokes that they're pregnant and then says "just kidding." Seriously, show me on this doll where that joke hurt you. Your pain doesn't give you the right to dictate others' humor. You really need to get over yourself. You talk about how "harmful" words are, while you're out there releasing helium balloons to "heaven" and choking sea creatures for your comfort. That's stupid.

Who was offended?
ReplyEvery year there's someone who says "I'll delete you if you post a pregnancy joke for April Fool's because it's insensitive to people who have lost a child and it's not funny." Literally...how?!?!
ReplyWhy does it make you so angry that a joke might offend some people, it's their right to be offended just as it's your right to find a bad taste joke funny.
Do you know how it feels to lose a baby? I doubt it so maybe you should be less concerned with people finding childish jokes offensive and be more concerned with practicing empathy.
You seem very immature
ReplyIt's just hypocritical is all. If you're going to be doing stuff like releasing balloons to commemorate your "angel" baby, you're doing harm to the environment. But you're hurt over words that have nothing to do with you? It's self righteous and weird.
ReplyYTA.
Having a miscarriage can be incredibly traumatic. Other people joking about your traumas can seriously hurt, and send you into a spiral. All of those emotions come back again, and you’re reliving the worst moments of your life, and then this bastard says ‘just kidding’ and expects you to be fine with it.
OP, if you care about this person at all, then you should be able to admit that you were wrong. You clearly don’t understand what they went through, at all, and you have no right to joke about their traumas and act all self righteous and call them a hypocrite. Just admit that you’re wrong, apologise, and don’t do it ever again.
yes, biodegradable balloons would be better. But that doesn’t make them a hypocrite. They had good intentions, wanting to commemorate a lost life. You did not have good intentions. See the difference?
