it just hurts a bit, bc I am black and proud of it, but my extended family who live in africa just seem to remove that and nickname me 'white', because i was born and raised in a western country and can only speak english. It wasn't my choice to be born here, or to be raised as a child, i don't understand why they think its okay to humiliate me and make jokes. Im not saying anythings wrong with being any race/colour, but what sucks is not being seen as your true race that you're trying to be proud of.. just because you were brought up differently, and act differently, i can't help it but it's not a great feeling when you're told "you don't act black", "you talk like a white person" etc ๐

Are you a good person? Are you compassionate, and caring? Empathetic?
Where you grew up, and your language, does not define you. People who make you feel small because of that, is not your problem. Own your mind, and your body.

It is not worth your time being upset over words that have zero grounds. Be proud of who you are.
