So I'm closeted trans (FTM) and in the summer I'm going to India to see my family- which is great because I haven't seen them in ages and all, but I'm not sure how to get by exactly. Since I live in a country with a colder climate, I can get away with wearing jackets all the time, but if I do this in South India I will probably die due to excess heat considering how hot it's getting there lately. I don't have many shirts I'm comfortable wearing without a jacket, let alone shirts that my family would deem acceptable, per say (AKA shirts that make me look "too masculine"). I haven't been able to get a binder and I'm not sure how risky it would be to take one there in case any of my relatives or (even worse) my parents found it somehow (got some younger cousins who have looked through some of the stuff in my bag before). Maybe I'm being paranoid...I just really don't want to be found out. Does anyone please have any advice on how to avoid dyshoria while there? I'm not sure how to deal with it and I don't want to spend all my time there feeling even worse than I likely already will.

How are you going to hide your pelvic tilt designed to facilitate pregnancy?
ReplyDunno buddy, why are you asking me? I made this post ASKING for advice- no point asking questions back at me. If you're so concerned, maybe you should make your own post on here. :/
ReplyHello! I don’t know if you’ve gone to see your family yet but maybe something I suggest in this comment will help!
I don’t exactly have a binder yet either, but one thing I find really helpful are sports bras. They aren’t exactly as good as binders but they do keep you flatter then the average bra and they won’t raise any suspicion if your family finds it! Some other things you could pack are really large clothing items that your family might not look into as much? I don’t exactly know, but maybe there’s some clothing items you have that are really baggy and loose fitting that they won’t disagree with. Other than that maybe you have some masculine makeup styles you could try, maybe you could wear more masculine jewelry there, when you’re not with them maybe you could try talking to others you see with a deeper tone of voice, etc. anything like that at all are things I can think of.
But I wish you the best and just remember it’ll only be for the summer and then you can get back to your place of comfort ^^!
