Hmmm…do kids have less of a sense of understanding for our “realities” - such as asset-based worth, social status, death, skin color, etc etc etc) because they have come from a place that inherently makes them: time-bound uninformed, pre-conceptive, pre-influenced and wildly open-minded? They can say the most genius, spiritual, wise things - all the while putting their left shoe on their right foot and asking if the Easter Bunny lives in the same town as Santa Clause. They have much to learn perhaps, but maybe we adults are not the best suited to the task! Sometimes I truly think they may be our greatest resource for enlightenment.

They asked me to donate to "at risk youth"
You know what I told them? Those kind of kids already stole my lunch money back in the day. What are they going to do with more money? As far as I'm concerned...

"At risk youth"
So basically the bad ass little kids that you coddle in order to give yourself a warm fuzzy feeling....
Beautifully sweet and simultaneously profound.
ReplyThank you.
ReplyAt times there is an old head on young shoulders.
ReplyAdults have a lot to learn from children, or rather unlearn.
