Since April I have a point of no motivation.
During the final parts of school I didn’t study. I stopped cleaning my room. Stopped exercising and I would really like it to stop. I feel as if it has become a habit for me. I spend countless hours on my phone watching TikTok’s and on Snapchat. It’s so sad because I’m only 15 and have no control over my life. I really want to change the way things have been going so it doesn’t continue into my future. I feel unmotivated constantly and don’t want to do anything. My room is a mess and so is life. I really want to stop spending so much time on my phone but I don’t want to miss out. I have conformed to a life where I’m always on my phone and social media. I’ve tried deleting these apps but after a few days I reinstall them. I can’t commit to stuff. I stopped doing my skin care and my skin has gotten worse. I really want to change but don’t know how.

Hey. I used to be in your situation as well, and I'm around your age. This school year, a couple months ago, I just stopped turning in my assignments online. I stopped studying as well, so my grades dropped down tremendously. I just had no motivation and I'd spend all my time watching YouTube and stuff. My mother noticed and asked me why I didn't do my assignments. Luckily, she wasn't too strict with me. She told me that I had to do them if I wanted to be successful. I ended up disappointing my parents. Then, I found a video on YouTube that was about motivation. It really helped me, and I eventually had the courage to catch up on all my assignments. It was really hard for me, because I just wanted to give up. I also caught on with my regular exercise routine and started learning a new language. I think if I were to give you advise on how to get your motivation back, is that it's not impossible to get it back. You have control over your actions. You get to decide when you want to make improvements with yourself. I'm assuming you do school online from home, so it's easy to lose motivation when you stay home everyday. You just have to continue on through the days, knowing that your decisions matter. You're a strong person that can make good changes at any time, so you should find some hobbies for yourself and make some improvements! It'll be hard, but if I can do it, you can too! It was really hard because I would spend my days laying in bed, but if you think losing your motivation will be permanent, it's not! You can do great things.
ReplyI am middle aged, and I think many might think that I have nothing to offer, and cannot relate. This is an area where I have struggled my whole life. Those things that you want to stop wasting your time on, are just distraction from something inside that hurts, but you don't actually have control over. Maybe you know things that have caused you pain, and you can say what is bothering you; but maybe you cannot. I first recommend deciding if this puts you in any danger of self harm. If this is the case, seek help immediately. Call a hotline, call 911, or tell someone you trust. If not, please keep reading.
There is something bothering you. Of you are in an abusive, or dangerous situation, go back to the last statement. Call for help. Don't wait. If not, please read a little bit more.
There are times in our lives where even if something bad isn't happening, we feel listless, and out of control. There is nothing to work toward, and nothing that seems worth the effort. You can try talking with a counselor, or can I suggest The Counselor. This world is so upside down. Right is wrong, good is bad, and nothing seems like it's going in the right direction. So many scary, and sad things that we have little, or no control over. If things are this much chaos now, will it ever get better? I don't know exactly what tomorrow holds, but I have been reading this amazing book. It has true stories of adventures, heros, good conquering evil. There are predictions that have actually come 100% true, that were written thousands of years ago. There are people who are wise, and give advice that is timeless. It's like this secret book, that I was always intimidated about reading, because I didn't think that I was smart enough to understand it. People go to college for years studying this book, how could I understand? I started reading it. I prayed for wisdom to understand, and now I feel completely confident in what I am reading. There is not a single problem that isn't spoken about, and answered in the pages. Not one. There are people just like you and me (I couldn't believe it, but it is actually very true), who do the most amazing things and have truly changed the world. So many people are trying to figure out how to get ahead, how to get rich quick, or to beat someone to the punch. You don't need to do any of that. Did you know, that you are exactly who God created you to be? Do you know that He knows everything you have ever done, or will do, and He loves you immensely? I grew up with similar feelings as you. I did have an abusive parent, but this has been a lifelong struggle. It doesn't matter why (as long as you are safe), you feel this way. You need to feel joy, passion, and excitement to want to make changes in your life. Wouldn't it be amazing to feel excited about something, and confident that you are very important? You are very needed. Exactly who you are right now. God made everything single person in the world, and He looked down at this world, and decided that He needed one of you! Read this book called the Bible. You can read it online, but I just love holding mine. They are free in many places, just do a search. I love to write notes in mine about things I find that I find bring me hope, joy, or help in the verses I read. How I learned to read it was really cool. I just started. When I got to something I didn't understand, I prayed for God to help me understand, and then I kept reading. I learned that I can ask God literally ANYTHING. Nothing too big, or small. Nothing too embarrassing. I feel confident, and a peace nothing has ever brought me before. Did you know that if you believe in Jesus, and you ask Him to be your Savior, and simply ask that He forgive every sin you have ever made; He literally at that moment wipes your slate clean? Completely forgiven, 100% gone and forgotten. I had so much shame, and guilt, and I still fight to let go of things that Jesus already paid for, and erased from existence. This is my struggle. Satan knows your name, but he calls you by your sin. Jesus knows your sin, but He calls you by your name. Satan wants you stuck in shame, and guilt. Jesus just wants you. Many books have people who follow, and love the author. This book is the only one ever written where the Author loves the reader. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
ReplyAgree. May I suggest a workbook that helps you pull things out of the good book so you are not simply coming across amazing stories in a hazardous way. Also, if you are reading for the first time, read Genesis, the creation of the world, then Job, the world’s most unlucky [. . ; ) . . ] man, so you can see that we are meant to struggle with hard times. . and so on and so on. .
ReplyI wish I have the same mindset as you. But I'm thankful you're sharing this wisdom He has given you and not just putting it in a chest, then locked it forever. I don't know if I will still be alive for the next years to come, but I'm really glad I stumbled upon this meaningful and wise message you have written. I will keep on trying to stay. I will keep on trying to pray. Thank you.
ReplyYour young and I promise you’ll be ok .
Set limits for yourself. Like an hour or so for your phone .
And and hour or so for cleaning .
Maybe an hour of going to the park of a place that is safe and around other people without your phone .
Make a routine for yourself.
No reason you can’t have everything in your life like apps phone time makeup skincare and whatever .
I have two kids . And we clean together go play outside together . They get screen time , outdoor time . Cleaning up time .
Your young but your also old enough to hold yourself accountable.
Work out while cleaning listen to music and dance and sing while picking up . Move around . Do things that make you happy .
Read a book
Write poetry or your feelings down .
Listen to music .
Go outside sit on your porch close your eyes and take ten deep breaths . Take in the smells around you . And listen to the sounds
.
You have this young one !
ReplyBreathe. I have been through this myself. I still struggle. I have lived so many lives, but I'm still alive... enduring... and thriving.
This helped me, maybe it will help you too.
Make a list of the things that you are grateful for. And visualize these and how it made you feel. Then make a list of your aspirations. Focus on these.... because right now.... YOU are the most important person in the world.... and YOU deserve only the best.
There is no fool proof formula to living your best life. You also need to figure it out for yourself. Know what you want.... why you want it... and how you are going to get it. Be brave. YOU can be BRAVE.
Take each task one at a time, and do it purposefully for yourself. All of these things will help conspire to bring out the best in you. I believe this for you.
