I am tired. I have had 6 weeks off and I am still tired. I return to teaching in 2 days which means my countdown of days left to dress how I want, feel productive, and own my personality is also down to 2 days. I have always wanted to be a teacher for my whole entire life but three years in and I want to leave. I love the kids. I love being a consistent and stable adult for them. But everything else is too much.
The workload is unreal, the administration is unreal, the expectations are unreal.
The way to solve this problem seems so easy. Leave. But it's not. You can only leave during a specific time frame in which your work allows you to. There is no salary negotiation. There is no trying a different school to see if there's a better atmosphere. It's leave during theses 4 weeks or we'll hold your license for a year.
