Hey folks of Novni, I have a problem.
Recently, I have come to a conclusion that I am a clingy, over-emotional person.
I have a friend, and I would message them every night I could be on. I also stick close with them, or when we meet, follow, but recently I'm glad they were honest. They told me how they don't find it fun, and I acknowledged their complaint, and decided to give them space.
I'm just sad that I had become so clingy. I pour my heart and emotions into messages with them in some situations, but I think I've put in too much. How can I back off a little, without seeming upset or whatnot?
It was kind of a shock hearing about how clingy I was, but I'm glad to know, so I can fix things. Just need some advice on how I can start..

dont beat urself up for being clingy. tbh i am the same way and i rly hate that abt myself. ive learned a few things and hopefully i can help u out. maybe u could start by texting a few times a week instead of every day. maybe pour into some of those other friendships/relationships that u might have with other people. if u evenly disperse ur energy among multiple people, it will rly help u out and make u less clingy. best of luck!
ReplyIt seems like this friend is very honest. Maybe you should try to ask them how much you should back off and in what way. Their answer wouldn't really be a solution to all friends, but it could help give you an idea. Similar to cry_baby, dispersing your energy to other people or maybe hobbies would also be a good way to not be too clingy. Best of Luck as well!
