I recently just turned 15 and my mom is on my back about me getting a job. I’ve tried to get jobs when I was 14 but I never got a response. It’s my first year in high school and I kinda don’t want a job because i’m not that ready to have a responsibility, I just want to chill this year before getting a job, but at the same time I want a job to have my own money and things like that since my parents act like it’s such a problem when I ask them for money ,but I don’t have an allowance nor a job. I think i’m leaning more towards me getting a job, but I have no experience. I’ve been trying to get a job through indeed but that hasn’t been working and I haven’t been getting responses. So far I’ve applied for McDonalds, Subway (even though I don’t like the pay), Chic- Fil-A nd more places. Does anyone have any suggestions about this whole situation? Can anyone give me resume summary ideas? And could someone please give me tips about getting a job and doing interviews!

Just find small busnesses I'm the same age and I mow and work wherever I need. Just let people know that you are looking and they can create contacts
Replywhat about supermarkets or grocery stores? maybe they need a helping hand for a few hours a week. I worked in the supermarket since I was 15, it was part of my education. or if you can craft something you could sell your creations online? Or you can deliver leaflets
In your resume or cover letter - you should write why they should choose you, and how do you fulfill their requirements. For example, if they are searching for someone responsible - write there you are responsible. And so on - follow the job offer what they want and write down you are just like that. The same at a job interview. Good luck!
ReplyWell I would love to chew your parents out cuz people under 18 should focus on school and being a kid. But that isn't gonna help you. So maybe you could be a babysitter or a dog walker and just do "odd jobs" mowing lawns is another good example but when you apply to places like you have.... call them relentlessly asking if they've looked at your application yet... don't bother applying to any place that serves alcohol...you will be turned down just cuz of age.
