There should be free hysterectomies for all women and girls who want them

Girls should be given the option upon getting their first period if it's something they want to keep having or not. And if they elect to have a hysterectomy it should be free and done without question. No one should have to have a uterus.

I am a female adult who started her period at the age of 10, and I disagree. Please research what a hysterectomy is, why it's done, the different types of hysterectomies, and what the procedures entail. It is not something to take lightly, it's irreversible, and should only be done when abousoltely necessary. A girl just starting her period is unlikely to foresee and determine whether she will or won't want to have children in the future and if she wants to be able to give birth to that child. Additionally, getting a hysterectomy is a major surgery so whether adult or girl it has health risks involved.
ReplyGetting that particular operation will put females straight into Menopause. You would have to take HRT to replace oestrogen. Menopause puts females at risk of bone loss, dementia, heart attacks and stroke. Having all your female body parts and hormones in the correct quantities protects females' cardiovascular systems during their reproductive years. Why do you think females are at lower risk of heart attack during their reproductive years than males? It's due to having their primary female hormone of oestrogen.
