I recently left in an abusive relationship I was trapped in for 3 years, and I got beaten a lot. I live with my sister and her family for now, but whenever there is tension in the house, even if it's not directed at me, I feel like I'm going to get hit again. I want my family members to feel safe to express frustrations and emotions, but I get horribly anxious when there's anger around me. I don't know how to deal with it.

ReplyTell your sister how it feels for you so she understands if you leave the room to get away from it etc. Once you build trust you'll also start to feel more comfortable but that feeling is your mind trying to protect you but going into overdrive. You should speak to a therapist or look at techniques to assist with ptsd and the fear response. But remove yourself from the situation is best if it makes you feel that way. But you also have to try and be able to deal with a small amount of verbal disagreement and conflict (in a respectful way ofcourse) as conflict can be normal and useful to resolving issues when they're discussed.
