Being Here, Now

Here is not a location in three-dimensional space. Space is just a useful concept that describes my perceptions. Perceiving only happens right here, within me, never from some other location. Now is not a moment in time that separates the past from the future. The flow of time is just a useful concept that supports my thinking. Thoughts only occur right now, never tomorrow or last week. I go on mental excursions sometimes to think about the past or a possible future, but these trips are limited. All of life is happening where I’m at, in this moment. The priority is to notice and respond to surprises, opportunities and warnings.
