A poem I wrote, "I Know":
I know that you’re tired
I know you’re afraid
I know you’re regretting the choices you’ve made.
I know how you cry when you’re losing your hope
I know that you’re right at the end of your rope.
I know you feel lonely, don’t know where to turn
I know there are things you wish you could un-learn.
Afraid to be silent, but too scared to shout,
Your mind is a prison and there’s no way out.
I know that you’re thinking there’s so much you lack.
I know that you’re lost and can’t find a way back.
I know that you’re doubting the future you’ll find;
You long for the happiness that you left behind.
I know there’s no joy in waking each day
When your smile and your laughter are slipping away.
I know that your plans and your dreams are a mess.
I know you have fears that you try to suppress.
Your heart has been tossed from pillar to post;
You’ve buried the things that matter the most.
You can’t look at yourself, scared of what you might see;
I know that you’re not where you wanted to be.
You’re exhausted, you’re sad, you don’t know what to do
I know how you feel. I’ve been there too.
Just take a deep breath and keep holding on tight
One day, I know, you’ll return to the light.
