Okay to begin, I'm eating amazing-tasting blueberries. However, I just learned that I'm going to Poland in two weeks with my parent (who are Polish) to meet the rest of my family in person, for the first time. Now the problem is they speak Polish and I really only know English and French, from living in Canada my whole life. So how am I supposed to talk or even communicate with my only grandmother and relatives? My parent can speak both English and Polish but they can't just translate everything, all the time. Especially when I'm going to be left alone with my grandmother while my parents are seeing old friends. Therefore, I need to learn some Polish but I don't know how or even where to start. I've tried apps and asked my parents to teach me but apps didn't work well with me, and my parents have only ever made fun of me for pronouncing things wrong and saying I'm not trying hard enough. So please if anyone has tips or ideas on where to start I will be very appreciated. So far I know how to say:
Yes, No, Hello, how are you, I'm good thank you, bye, and how to count to ten.

ReplyYou need to polish up on your Polish.
ReplyI have a Polish friend who has been teaching me some words. ‘Kutas’ means food. In a sentence:
Możesz ssać kutasa, ja jestem o sławie
roughly translates to ‘I would like some food, I am getting very hungry’.
Hope this helps!
