What do you think?

So, its a weird situation and I'm uncertain of what it means. I won't try to add any bias to what happened.

Usually, when I talk to this girl, she can hold eye contact with me. No big deal. That's normal.

However, my mother was in a public space with the both of us. The girl and I greeted each other quickly and then I introduced her to my mother. I didn't notice it but my mom said that while the girl was talking to her, the girl would make eye contact with her and, at the same time, shy away from my gaze. Like the girl knew I was looking at her (in a socially understandable way). My mom said that the girl wanted to look my way but felt the need to maintain I contact with her.

She could like me and be shy around me, feel uncomfortable with me or that's just the way she is. I've never really noticed it before since we rarely have conversations where another person is involved.

My mom and I could just be overthinking this too.
