So I knew my boyfriend 5 years ago through mutual friends we liked eachother but we didn't date after 3 years (we both dated other people) we reunited and started dating what's messing with my head is that his ex has the same name as me she looks nothing like me tho but it messes with my head all of the time what if I was a rebound and he never really got over her? Btw he knew me first before dating her(I never confessed having a crush on him at that time but he had an obvious crush on me and I was acting hard to get at that time ) they stayed 6months together and me and him have nearly 2 years together now IT HAUNTS ME everytime does he remember her when he calls me by my name??? Am I just a replacement?? We don't seem to have the same personality or looks but the f.... name ..... I'm not an insecure person but I wonder if someone has the same experience if I was a third person I'd assume this is 100% a replacement 😶

maybe deep down you have a slightly anxious personality and this is triggering it. Stop it. You are so much more than just a name - it's like getting hung up if his ex was the same race, height, played the same sport, or whatever, as you. Take a deep breath, acknowledge that it's a bit uncomfortable, then move on. Do not feed it, trust me, you're only harming yourself.
ReplyNo. As a boyfriend myself, that's the furthest thing from his mind, I promise you. But it never hurts to be open and honest about this insecurity with him, he loves you, he'll be receptive, and hopefully be able to help alleviate these fears. Good luck girl.
