Her name was Dixie, she was a Chihuahua mix who loved to eat pickles and just about anything, she lived to 17 years old. She developed this black stuff on her mouth which reeked but we dealt with it because we loved her so much. It's so weird coming home and not yelling out "Dixie we're home" or telling her that my mom's here or my sister's at the house. It's so weird not hearing her claws click on the floor all night when we were all in bed and she searched for food. Sometimes I wonder if our cat Ziggy misses her, even though they didn't really interact as Dixie was scared of cats. It's so strange just not seeing her when I look in her corner or not seeing her bed anymore. We still have her dog bowls. We got her when she was six and when I was six or seven. I'm 16 now.

Damaged Beyond Repair
I saw it in your eyes, I knew you were unhappy, if I could go back in time I would tell somebody to slap me, maybe that would have forced me to care, now I feel...
This is so sad. I hope you get another puppy now to take her place. My dog is 11 years old and his name is Angel. When my dog before him (Ned) was old I got Angel so that when Ned died I wouldn't miss him so much. It is funny to hear that Dixie was scared of cats because Angel goes after them like he wants to kill them! If he hears a cat outside he goes into a wild mood with lots of angry growling and if he is outside he will chase the cat and even after it is gone he does a complete search of the front and back yards to make sure there are no cats around. Anyway, as I said the best thing to do is to get another puppy now. I am sorry for your loss and wish you and Ziggy the best.
