Losing a parent is one of the hardest things someone can go through, let alone losing a parent at a very young age. Losing my mom when I was only 2 years old was something that shaped my life forever. Growing up, I always missed that special mother-daughter bond that so many of my friends had, and I often felt like I was missing a huge part of myself. I didn’t understand why it was me? Why my mom? However, this experience also taught me to be independent and self-sufficient from an early age. I had to learn to be resilient and to rely on my own strength to get through the tough times. I also learned the importance of cherishing the memories with my friends. Despite the sadness, I try to focus on the love and joy that my mom brought into my life, even if it was only for a short time. Losing my mom has taught me the value of family and the importance of being present in the lives of those we love.
