I hate being black. Simple as that. I love the color of my skin, my eyes in the sun and the long length of my dreads. I am proud of my heritage and ancestors for all they endured. But I'm struggling all the time I'm so depressed and so alone and so disgusting to everyone in my school. Every white girl every pretty white girl has had so many people fall in love with them and like them and call them beautiful and know my Afrocentric features are nothing but ugly to them. Even my friends make comments about other people with dark skin as if it doesn't hurt me just as much. The part I hate the absolute most is when people are mad especially at my school I am the skapegoat they are only mad at me even if it was other people who Instigated the drama. I'm the only one who gets blamed the only one who gets targeted. I'm called a whore a slut they tell they're other friends to hate me that I'm disgusting and fat and ugly I just cannot be black anymore it's too hard and I quit.

Would it be wrong of me?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't stand people putting down people for stupid reasons. I think you should open up to people and tell them how you feel when they say certain things. You have to in this world. But never hate being who you are. Especially for the color of your skin.
ReplyThe only real ugly is an ugly heart. Mistreating someone for no reason making them a scapegoat is totally wrong. You deserve to be treated way better. You are who you are you cant change that. Kids can be really cruel. So can adults who haven't matured in life. Try to love yourself for who you are. I do agree with the other comment you need to voice how you feel as well.
ReplyPeople will use any reason at all to put someone down. It doesn't just have to be about color. They will use any excuse at all to make someone feel less than them.
What they are doing isn't about you though. At some point in their lives, they felt weak and scared. They felt powerless. They felt out of control. They are using you to feel powerful. In order to take back their power, they choose someone who seems like they are the weakest. The person who they believe will not be able to fight back.
Looks are deceiving, and I have learned the kindest people are the strongest of us all. You come from a long line of strength. It's in your blood. You are stronger than you think you are.
Don't believe their lies.
