God does exist but arguably, he isn't real. God exists in the mind of humans and has for thousands of years - whether you're monotheistic, henotheistic or a polytheist, or whether you only believe in yourself - you feel the presence of God throughout your life through the actions of others.
I am not religious and so making the distinction between existence and reality is easier: God exists as a political notion, as God can be likened to something intangible like patriotism or hatred. I say political because God is politically divisive: yes, there are conservatives and republicans that don't believe in God just as much as there are liberals and democrats who do. However, the participation of people in Christianity, Catholicism and Protestantism (without their devolved sects) have been sensationalised frequently to cause hate, harm or phobias of other practices. In short, I say political because God is not a real man, God is an ideology used to propagate other ideologies such as austerity, retribution, penalisation, autonomy, morality, etc. I also believe this because human religion can only really be traced back to anywhere between 50-200 thousand years ago, which would put humanity at around 100,000 years old already - which means our religious practices probably relied on our closeness to each other which would coincidentally mean our dynamics.
Those who disagree thus far, please refer to the Crusades, the Witch Hunts, the Greek War of Independence, the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, The War of the Three Henrys, the Hussein War, the Great Chain of Being, the Seven Years War, the formation of the 1945 Revised Bible, and every contradiction in the Holy Bible (there are over 100. For this information please see: Lydia McGrew, Mike Licona and Jim Warner Wallace's works, respectively).
Questioning the role of God in ones life has been occurring since Ancient Greece, see the Epicurean Paradox. The paradox states that if God's purpose is to prevent evil, yet evil still persists, then he is not all-powerful. And if God can prevent evil but chooses not to, then God is not good. This leads to the probable conclusion that God is not a God.
Although, I'm not here to debate whether God does exist: I know he does. He is just not real. Human's don't possess earthbending, fire-breathing powers, but we do possess what many other species on this planet don't: an imagination. It would be fair to say that God, if anything, is both the allusion and illusion of freewill.
I do not follow God, nor do I renounce him - but I am a good person. I do good things out of my own volition without the eternal cesspit of hell constantly towering over the decisions I make. My ability to be a good person is not affected by God, and so why does God get the credit for mobilising and notarizing the human race when reality states humans have accomplished humanity through sheer luck and force.
Gods are belief systems that have proven both good and bad for people of all kinds. This is proved by the statistics alone. If you're born in Saudi Arabia, you're more likely to be muslim, if you're born in Thailand, you're more likely to be buddhist. Depending on whether you're born on the north or south of Ireland, you could turn out either Protestant or Catholic.
So, which one is real? If any? And why? Or are humans incapable of feeling secure in themselves to such an existential degree that they seek security in men on mystic clouds with magical powers? Does God define who we are, or do we let him?
I hope you understand this isn't hateful, just a friendly inquiry.

I once dreamed that I was taken to heaven by a holy one. I was taken to God and He was a huge round light from which love poured out.
ReplyThis is perhaps more realistic than his long beard and white hair. Thank you for your insight.
ReplyIts not really hard to grasp if you have faith. God exists and is real. In a dimension we can't see but we can feel Him. Ask him to come be in your life He will. Its simple but people overcomplicate it. If you draw near to him he will draw near to you.
ReplyGod is a feeling. To me, contacting God would be looking into the mirror and proving myself right. Thank you for your kind words, but I do not seek to draw near to something that is as unforgiving as the Lord of forgiveness.
Replyas someone who questioned his existence, i mean hey i grew up going to church and only knew him by how i was taught and by what others said.. i questioned for many years before i knew he was truly real. here is the truth, God doesnt think like us and most of us at one point questioned his existence but the only way i truly knew was i kept asking.. even if everything seemed going wrong in my life i still asked him . the moment i truly knew he was real was when i met someone who is christian who supposed could hear from God and he told my whole life story and teh times i cried out to God bc most times when i did i didnt believe he heard me.. so in some way you too want to know if he is truly real wether it be conciously or not.. and he hears you just ask him to show you that he is real and to make it evident and clear and he will do it :) it might not be an immidiate response but you will get your answer!
ReplyAsk God if he’s real he will show you that he is but it might not be immediately so be patient he loves you and wants the best for you he hates seeing you in pain tell him your struggles ask him to help you and to help you believe and understand if you give your life to him he will work wonders on you and your life but it doesn’t happen overnight just think of it as construction work it might take days, weeks or even years but the time is worth waiting for because it takes time to perfect something like learning how to sing or draw it can take a decade to perfect but it does say in the Bible ask and you shall receive if you don’t get exactly what you wanted it’s because it could have hurt you in the long run so he will give you something better that won’t hurt you in the long run God Bless you in all your ways
