The child's key to greatness

Be like a child… To become like Me…

Be like a child to become like Me!

Another dusty day on the road to Jurusalem,

the crowd slows down for a while,

a ripple of motion moving close,

A mother and a child.

His men, they scoff,

“He doesn’t have time.”

We’ve got more “serious” things to do

We’ve got big “important” plans!

Why should we stop for you?

Soon enough their faulty view of the Kingdom’s things at hand,

Would be exposed and their pride revealed in just a moment's span.

The wee little child scrambles up on Jesus’s knee,

with big, round eyes all a-wonder, blinking, dancing, free!

Jesus snuggles, wraps His arms around him, and the child returns the hug.

Ahhh… The sweet reminder of the Father’s loving arms…

All eyes on Jesus, so real, so true!

Jesus’s words would hold the key,

“If Kingdom love is your hope and dream, be like a child, be like Me!”

“If it is true greatness you desire, the kind that is so rare, then here,

a child, a simple child.”

He stood up and held the child in His arms up high.

“HERE!”

Then He pointed at us “big” people.

“Children, listen! Take to heart the words King Jesus speaks.

Be like this child, to be great, humble, simple and meek!”

“Be like a child to become like Me!

This is the only way to be great as you can see!”

Live in the moment, trust in Him.

Your eyes blinking at wonder at everything God says…

Trust in Him and do not fear.

For God is always near.
