A collection of unfinished thoughts

He folds my tea towels when I don’t see,

And visits in my dreams to be close to me,

He washes my clothes and makes me food,

Only to ask me if I’m in ‘the mood’,

I try to look past my rose tinted vision,

But this feels like a love you see on television,

Those old movies, you know, I’m a hopeless romantic,

Which is why when you ignore me I start to panic,

Are you with her? Is she phoning you too?

Sometimes I wish I could just undo,

Undo the love you promised to me,

And undo the way I gave you the key,

You unlocked my heart from the safe where it store,

You had all my love and still needed more,

Tell me is she loving you? Is she doing what I couldn’t do?

I know your religion gives you a sense of faith,

Mine was your love and you escaped,

Now I watch, rewatch, movies of romance,

And I’m left wondering,

Did I ever have a chance?
