Does anyone else feel a strong sense of dread thinking about their adult lives? I don't want to marry, don't see the appeal in the men of this generation, and I'm scared to lose my youthful look. I already hate my appearance, and I worry how much worse it will get once I get old. I don't want to work a 9-5 job, don't want to be stuck in the cycle of boredom that I see my parents in. School and friends are fulfilling, but I worry that real life won't feel the same. I don't want to get fat like all these older women. I envy men, men who can just look however and still be worshipped, meanwhile the media tells 16 year old girls that they need to use anti-aging products and that they 'expire' at 25.
I hate growing up, I already look uglier than I did when I was in elementary school. I was thin then, I was pretty and my face was clear and I hate getting old. Im only 16, why do I feel like this?

Aging
I wish that women's looks didn't change beyond what they are around age 26, and men age 32 or so, before they start balding, anyway. It's not fair. Why do pe...

Someday
Someday we will be old. People tend to forget that. I've encountered an old man. He is 97 years old and his wife is 76. She is a mean old lady. Often fusses...
There is absolutely no use in feeling any sense of dread thinking about being an adult, and there is no reason to feel a sense of dread because of that.
If you want to stay looking young for a while use Botox and if necessary see a cosmetic surgeon. You can always have your lips pumped up, your wrinkles removed, and one or more face lifts later on if you want.
You don't have to work in a 9 to 5 job. You can do part time work or even run your own business.
You have a list of things that you don't like so how about a list of things you do like. When you leave school the world is your oyster and you have plenty of options ahead of you. Look at the beginning of being an adult a great adventure to be had.
ReplyDon't listen to the media. The media will tell you all sorts of things. It doesn't make it true. You can't let yourself be so influenced by the media. Think for yourself. Everyone ages. It's called life. You want to look as natural as possible for as long as possible, so avoid all Botox and modern procedures which are completely unecessary at a young age or even at an older age. Women may hit the so-called "Wall" but men do too, even if men like to convince themselves that they hit it later than women. Men just say that women hit "The Wall" to make themselves feel better when women don't give them sex or a relationship. Men would never think that about the woman that they love as they would see beyond her looks. Women's bodies go through so much more than male's bodies with menstrual cycles, pregnancy, and menopause.
ReplyYou're not going to expire, and life doesn't get boring. And if you don't find appeal in these men it's cause half of them suck and you're 16.
Listen sweetheart (I'M A GIRL, AND I AM NOT HITTING ON YOU) you don't expire at 25. You're just starting to live. You're not ugly, you're growing.
Recommendation to find a good man? Find a GOOD Christian boy (one that actually loves God and doesn't just go to say he does)
Find a boy that opens doors, find one that has your humor. I feel the same as you do,
I'm only 15 and I'm nervous for growing up. I'm being thrown into college already. It's a little strange. And I don't know how to feel.
Love you bunches ❤️❤️
