Dove

A stray,

Cast away.

Sadness consuming my waking days,

Am I really a hopeless case?

Sometimes feeling loved,

Heart pumping full of blood.

Sometimes wishing I was torn apart.

Is there a hole in my heart?

A deep, almost endless hole,

Aiming to digest me whole.

All I want is to fall in love,

But I am a loveless dove.

The hill is far too steep,

The loneliness is mine to keep.

A dove unable to fly,

Over the hill, high into the sky.
