Not long ago I told my young counselor about everything. My sh, suicide thoughts, all my problems and so on. I wrote it down on a letter so it would be easier for me. Last Thursday, she told me she had to tell my mom about my sh and suicidal thoughts. My mom knows the suicide part, but never the self harm. I never wanted to tell her, I wanted it to be a secret. Now I'm so scared, and I have no idea what the future holds..

These counselors have big mouths when it comes to dealing with children. It is up to you as to whether or not you want to harm yourself and tell your mother this. Tell her that she doesn't have to know everything about you just as you don't have to know everything about her.
ReplyHey pal,
there is nothing to be scared of . It is better that your parents are made aware of your self-harm thoughts so that they can process the real issue , its gravity and formulate the next steps to overcome this. This is for your own good if you are a teenager. However, if you are a person in your 30s , 40s or above.. i cant comment how your parents gonna react because they might be too old to take the burden of their suicidal child.
