I have always been taught to be nothing but perfect. This has made me lose my confidence even though i know that wherever I go, some is always gonna be better than me at something.
I got a job. Tried working hard, to be better but maybe kept failing or maybe it was a learning curve. I got fired eventually. I felt depressed earlier but then never thought about it a lot. Now, I switched career paths and shifted to a new city.
Gave 2 attempts/exams at career. Failed knowing fully that I never gave my best.
I didnt do anything for 1 year and now the time is upon me. The exam is approaching and I am supposed to get it right this time but I dont want to.
Meanwhile, I got in a situationship which eventually became a relationship. But now, coming this June, I might have to travel back to my family. Restrictions in an Indian household is like an animal in a Zoo => trapped and at the mercy of others.
So, I dont know what to do or how to feel. I have been feeling emotionally weak.
This is my first blog and i am gonna keep sharing. If someone has any opinion, you are most welcome to share your insights

I wish I cared as much for myself as I do for strangers
I have social anxiety. Every moment of everyday I am doing my best to be invisible. I order quickly knowing exactly what I want without any special requests. I...
Someone will always be better than you at something and you will be better than others at something. You can try different jobs until you find one that you like.
ReplyJust because you are taught something by someone else doesn't mean you have to adhere to that all your life.
ReplyBest part of life is owning it while respectfully setting those boundaries with your loved family members. Understanding from others is not needed. Validation from yourself, is. Give yourself credit for your big efforts and the small ones too. No need to try to be perfect as it is an impossible task. I'm 30 now, and went to college a couple times and switched careers like crazy. Trust me, it's ok and no one would notice or really pay attention. It's your life. Do not rush, do not quit, rest if you need.
ReplyDiscuss this deeply with your significant other. And keep in mind that the love between siblings and between parent and children should be unconditional, so if this is the case, then your family should love you no matter what, if you express to them with 100% sincerity that you are in life where you want to be, and as long as you are not violating any laws or you are not physically/emotionally/spiritually damaging anyone then your family should at least try to understand. Best of luck.
Courtesy notice: the following includes a reference to a book that contains writings over 2000 years old which are mostly parables about human nature, both vile human nature as well as moral human nature, parables that are meant to teach us to learn and grow, including the teachings of Christ Jesus. No religion required, and better yet: no public displays of devotion required, although the former and latter are admirable if practiced freely out of one's own free will and without the threat of being beheaded. Some bullies will label this "trolling", so "change the channel" now if of no interest to you.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Mark 12:28-31
And Christ Jesus said the 2 greatest commandments are:
Love God first and foremost.
Love your fellow-being as you love yourself.
From following or not following these, all good or evil cascades, respectively.
Love...that powerful, invisible, intangible force that cannot be denied; even atheists live and die by it.
Mary, Mother of Christ, intercede for us with your prayers, now, and always.
And after our worst deeds - never forget God forgives us when we repent through Christ Jesus.
