Hello! I’ve been thinking about converting to Islam. I’m not gonna convert yet, I’m gonna learn more and stuff and probably convert when I’m older because I’m only 14 after all. My mother’s friend is muslim and she’s gonna take me to a camii to observe sometime! Anyways… I have a lil problem. I noticed I’ve been making excuses to not wear a head scarf.
A couple of my excuses are :
Im deaf and wear behind the ear hearing aids
- if they cover my ears then I won’t hear well, and if I put the hijab behind my ears it will create lots of noise, I really don’t like things on my ear man
It will draw attention ( I know this for a fact )
-I’m not in a muslim country and I really don’t want to get people’s attention from it.
But I’m making these excuses… maybe one of them is valid and I know their true too but the fact I don’t genuinely want to wear it for god and instead I’m finding excuses to not just makes me feel guilty. I’m not even muslim! … ughhhhhh… is it wrong…? I don’t want to wear a hijab. I don’t wanna not wear it because I want to show off my hair and use it for like idk beauty… I just don’t want to! It brings me attention if I wore it… and stuff… I mean sure I’ll wear it sometimes!! I know it’s a sin. I’m scared…. 😭

I won't judge you because I think . I am trying not matter what stage you are on, why you wanna to convert your religion . Inshallah in future you might learn more about Islam and you decided to do what your heart feels. There are people out there who wear hijab and still aren't perfect, I wanna to suggest you if you want to
Saw yourself ,so don't think about people ,life's is yours and it's your choice what do you want to wear you wear it's your life
ReplyIt's not a practical item of clothing for you. Your ability to be able to ear properly is paramount as it's your health which is at stake.
ReplyOkay so I’m not Muslim or a woman, but when I was in high school there was this one Muslim girl in my class who whore a hijab with a baseball cap and a hoodie to class every day. I’m not sure how she didn’t burn up dressing like that every day because she even did it in the summer.
ReplyBecause I guess I technically don’t know if she had long hair, but I assume she probably did. So if you think about how many layers that is: long hair, underneath a hijab, underneath a baseball cap, underneath a hoodie, when it’s like 90 degrees outside.
ReplyHow can not wearing a scarf on your head be a sin?
ReplySomeone who expresses his or her faith through praying in their home behind their closet door can have 100 times more faith than someone who prays 20 times in public. Best of luck.
Courtesy notice: the following includes a reference to a book that contains writings over 2000 years old which are mostly parables about human nature, both vile human nature as well as moral human nature, parables that are meant to teach us to learn and grow, including the teachings of Christ Jesus. No religion required, and better yet: no public displays of devotion required, although the former and latter are admirable if practiced freely out of one's own free will and without the threat of being beheaded. Some bullies will label this "trolling", so "change the channel" now if of no interest to you.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Mark 12:28-31
And Christ Jesus said the 2 greatest commandments are:
Love God first and foremost.
Love your fellow-being as you love yourself.
From following or not following these, all good or evil cascades, respectively.
Love...that powerful, invisible, intangible force that cannot be denied; even atheists live and die by it.
Mary, Mother of Christ, intercede for us with your prayers, now, and always.
And after our worst deeds - never forget God forgives us when we repent through Christ Jesus.
Replyhey perhaps you should start with wearing more full sleeve clothing , then hat with a pony then beanie with muffler in winters. May Allah bless you and personally you don't need to become a perf Muslim alr. Just say Shadah and start working on your prayers, I would personally say do your research but if you've done research and are fully convinced , don't delay it :]
