What does it really mean when a man mirrors your actions and stares at you afterwards?
We don't know each other but I do see him at the coffee shop frequently (he's a new regular customer).
One time, I noticed he did copy me once (once, because of course, I wasn't entirely paying attention to him the whole time so I dunno if he did it again after that). On a different day (weeks after) he did it twice. He copied my 2 gestures; doing each gesture right after I did it, then he stared at me afterwards. This second time was just actually a "test" to know if he's really mimicking me—and he did.
What do you guys think? Could it be that I just looked approachable and that he wants to be friends?

I don't know. He does sound like he is kind of weird.
ReplyMirroring is normal human behavior. If you are correct in your assessment that he is mirroring you it would likely mean that he sees you favorably, there could be a number of reasons for this. But it is definitely not a negative thing. He might think you are cool or attractive or perhaps he might view you interacting with others and he may wish to be more like you in those situations. It is not weird or creepy though, it is normal. Everyone does it. you do to with other people.
