I'm a young teen girl, but I'm scared if I dont do it now I won't have time to do it later. I struggle with motivation, but I believe if people actually comment on how to help and how I achieve what I want, ill manage. I've struggled with my weight a LOT, and like especially since I've lost literally all my friends, my confidence, self esteem all that, I really js feel gross and I wanna loose weight. I'm not that fat, but I'm not skinny either. Ive got a small waist, but then the rest of my body fat ruins it. Any tips on how to loose weight?? I know you need to do a (calorie deficit?) but I'm confused on how it works, and I just don't know where to start with excersizing..(can't do anything w jumping) I have a ton of potential face-wise, and I feel like if I get slimmer and more toned ill feel better and people will treat me better too. I won't be embarrased anymore, nor will I be jealous of anyone. Also anyone got any snack/meal ideas? I tried eating healthy, but it all tastes bland and awful, so.. dont know how to go about that. Any tips?

So I’m 20, I’m male, I’m not a health expert by any means, I’m just talking from my own experience. When I was a younger teenager, like 12 or 13, there was this one period of my life where because of our financial situation and where we were staying I was eating frozen dinners for like every meal. When I went back to my normal diet, my weight dropped so fast, my doctor was slightly concerned / amazed that I was able to lose that much weight that quickly and even years later with different doctors I’d get questions about that. But basically, all of that is to say: it isn’t necessary that you should eat less, as much as it is, what you’re eating. And I’m not a nutritionist or anything, but microwave stuff is bad. From my own experience. But take that with a grain of salt. (Which frozen foods have more than a grain of btw.)
ReplyAlso regarding stuff tasting bland, if you want to try and eat vegetables or something try eating them different ways. Like to me, steamed vegetables taste awful, but I can tolerate raw vegetables. Try it with different dips, maybe hummus, maybe different salad dressings, soy sauce. Just suggestions, idk.
ReplyOnly eat healthy food and not a lot of it! No candy, chocolates, cookies, cake, or anything fattening. Exercise every day for at least half an hour or longer as you get used to it. Eating salads is a good idea and lettuce has no calories.
ReplyContinued: no fizzy drinks.
ReplyI personally disagree with the person above, but I guess it depends on the person. For me, cutting out food such as junk food, fast food, sweets etc never worked. It’d restrict myself only to end up binging on all these foods I desired, then I felt horrible about myself and the cycle would continue. I literally thought I’d never be that girl to lose a lot of weight, but it happened. First of all you should cut out the idea of losing a significant amount of weight in a very short amount of time. It is almost guaranteed it won’t happen due to many reasons. Simply to lose weight your calorie intake has to be lower than your calorie outtake and one way your outtake can increase is by exercise however we know diet is the factor that’s most influential in losing weight and no exercise. Although something else about exercise which helped is that it makes you crave junk food less (if you’re not starving yourself whilst excessively exercising). So… diet. I made a choice to be healthy and I realised without intending that I followed something like the 80/20 method… give or take. I made sure to not restrict myself the ‘’unhealthy food’’ above but only have it when I feel like it’s worth it, or I’m really craving it. A random chocolate bar as a snack when I know I’m not that hungry ? Not worth it. My mum randomly decided to cook one of my favourite desserts and it looks and smells amazing ? Worth it. I’ll have till I’m content, but not too full. Over time, trust me your body will start to adapt and you’ll naturally crave these foods less and less so don’t be so harsh with this in the beginning, say, if you did have that random chocolate bar. It’s a process you’re easing into… a new lifestyle to your whole life and not just a diet. Something else to look out for is the type of food you eat. You might want to research more on this because I’m not an expert but the basics that we know like protein is very good for fulling you up, never have a sweet breakfast only have a savory one or else you will crave sugary/junk food in the day, eat tue fruit and veggies you love. Ok so for me, I’ve always adored dessert. I love them. I love chocolate and biscuits and donuts and cake and everything inbetween. I watch videos online and crave them. So I knew I couldn’t just eliminate my sweet tooth, and what sweet could I eat when it wasn’t that ‘’worth it’’ time I spoke of ? Simply I had healthy substitutes that were sweets. I discovered that dates were so versatile and tasted soo good and there’s different types. I ate it to mainly to satisfy my sweet tooth but over time as my taste buds adapted I actually started seeing what people mean by ‘too sweet’ when it comes to dessert with a lot of sugar, sweeteners etc. Oh yeah something which I KNOW helped me so much was not eating food minimum 2 hours before bed but ideally 3. In the beginning this was so hard as I would fall asleep literally salivating thinking about food, but I knew that I needed to change my terrible habit of over eating before bed because it plays a big part in gaining weight and honestly this made a big difference to my weight loss. It’s worth it because you just need to suffer in the beginning then your body gets used to not craving food so much before bed ( as long as you haven’t been starving yourself in the day and eating the right foods with fibre, protein etc). Try not to think about food and your weight loss too much in general is a general advice too. Just remind yourself that you know this will pay off eventually. Know you won’t wake up the next days looking so different, but you will see the changes soon. Also you’ll just feel better about yourself. I know I briefly mentioned exercise but it’s worth speaking about it more. Just do anything that’ll get your heart rate up and make you sweat. Try to do that at least once a dad even if it’s just 5 mins, like going up and down the stairs or following one of many short HIIT workouts on YouTube ( very hard in the beginning, it’s fine as long as you push yourself you don’t have to finish all without breaks). But also exercise can come in sooooo many forms. It really helps. I know this was so long but it really worked for me. I started doing it without thinking because it became easy and my new lifestyle so I didn’t constantly think about food when I was dieting and trying to basically starve and restrict myself. Just people started commenting I lost weight. I randomly started noticing that my waist in smaller, my jeans are getting baggy, etc. Most importantly from all of this, your insides matter the most. Who you are, etc. And this way will also help with your mental health and wellbeing too. Good luck !
ReplyThis is very long but I know many people struggled with losing weight like me and I hope it’ll help you and at least one other person willing to read :)
ReplyTHANK U SO MUCH OMG!! I usually eat sweet stuff for breakfast (can't help it since my ma likes pain au chocolate things and crepes, and they're ready made easy for me to eat when I'm out of the door for school) but ill try n find a substitute that's healthier!! Since I'm still young, my ma usually cooks my dinner for me (n the rest of my family) and there's not much I can do, but I heard drinking a glass or 2 of water before the meal (or any meal of the day) is good? Since it fills you up quicker and you eat less apparently. Ill probably slowly add more n more veg to the side of my meals, js to be somewhat healthier. I always thought I had to do atleast an hour of excersize, but ill slowly build it up rather than just immediately going for an hour of excersize. Thanks for ur comment!!! Have a good day/night <3
