I haven't experienced much in a long time, and I find it hard to grasp even simple concepts from a book. At this point, I don't even know what's real and what's not anymore. An app I use was narrating me a book, which is great, because it sounds like a real human voice, and I can literally download any book I want... but I just feel like I've spent so much time in this digital era that I lost my ability to comprehend what's outside, much less know the experience. Because I get what touch means, and so, I don't really need to touch every water drop to know what touching water feels like; which brings me this question: If you never touched, say, a texture, like frog skin or something... would you really understand the feeling without ever having touched it? I wonder if scientists or book writers have to experience a lot before writing, or they talk mostly in theory and in concept. I mean, live and learn... you grasp what you can and then you materialize it into words. But ever does it happen to you that tasks such as reading a book (I have it easier though, 'cause a text-to-speech narrates me the whole thing) become hard to get because you just sorta feel a pressure to move on instead of being stuck for several seconds trying to understand it? In school, they taught us to read without stops... they expected us, in English class (I speak Spanish), to read nonstop without any pauses, even if we didn't really understand how to pronounce the words... you kinda got a general idea of the accent of said language and how it is spoken, and then you'd eventually get better at it; but what if things like these really stopped us in our tracks to understanding? What if we shouldn't rush understanding? Two of one or two of two: It's too late for me at this point in my life to improve my understanding of things, or/and all my life I was just not good at understanding in the first place. It could also be that all the books, songs, videos, etc. that I consume content off are in English, mostly, but I do get a lot of the words regardless, because Spanish and English have almost the same alphabet or words are written in almost the same fashion... and so it is easier for me to get, than for example a Japanese or Chinese person. If your answer is yes, I would like to know if anyone else here suffers from the same form of misunderstanding or trouble to understand.
