Yeah. Today was the first day of school and I'm planning on journaling (mostly) about my favorite period of the day each day.
So, I got out to the field and walked past all of the freshman. They seem smaller than I remembered the 8th graders were. I low-key feel mature now. Like I'm not the youngest in the building and am a person to look up to. My neighbor who moved in two months ago was on my bus. That was the first time I formally met her. Her name is Charlie and she's super cool. Probably more popular than I was as a freshman. She's one of the tallest in her grade, most of them are up to my knees. I'm not even joking. It's actually wild.
But anyway, at advisory we walked out to the Middle Field. We got some extra field time, but I was sweaty so I just sat with Addie, Liz, Abbie, Elias, Khang, Daniel, Khalel, and Rory. But Rory and Khalel were running around talking to their volleyball friends anyway. We were just sitting by the gate, and Zoe came up to the gate, too so I was happy. She was wearing our special rings. She's super cute. Addie kept joking about us getting married and it surprises me how many of my Warrior Team friends didn't know about us dating. Weird. Elias was kind of avoiding it, but then again he doesn't know how to act around love of any kind. (We love an aro\ace king.) So I just talked at the fence with Zoe with everyone else hanging out behind us sitting in the grass. Abbie handed out these "best friend" bracelets and it was really sweet of her. I traded with Khang and it was actually one of the only normal interactions I've had with him. He's amazing. Kicks me in the shins, but amazing. And teases me for being gay, but amazing. As for Liz, she's asking about how I'm doing a lot more and I really thank her for it. She worries about my self harm, and makes sure to give me alternatives. I can tell Thom is still a little salty about the last day, but I think we can still be friends. I think he's a great kind person but I told him I had moved on and it was none of his business who I was with and that I'm sorry but I can't do anything about his feelings. So we're all good. But I kept catching him staring at me in ELA. I counted after the third one, and it was 10 times. In a 50 minute period. But it's our little thing to catch each other's eye when something funny happens, so that might have been it. And I was near the board with him behind me.
I think Eytan was joking with him about it, but Thom shut him up and told him what happened. But I couldn't hear their entire conversation. I also did Annie's eyeshadow which I think I did pretty well on. I don't do makeup much if it isn't to cover up my bruises. On Monday is picture day and I have a great, pretty, colarred shirt that I'm wearing, but I got chocolate on it so my dad recommended Dawn soap, and my mom recommended Tide stain remover and I said I'd rather do the soap and mom said I must like Dad better. And I do, but I don't want her to think that because I like her, too.
But, goodbye, Novni journal!
