why do people cut?
like genuinely its disgusting, i feel so bad for ppl who decide to hurt themselves to the point they leave forever scars just kys atp. but i lowkey wanna try it...
Hey, I'm not gonna tell you to stop since you don't want me to, but please try to avoid doing it as much as you can. The urge is going to be really strong, but you have to try. If you still end up doing it, please use clean tools. The last thing you'd need is an infection. Sanitise your tools the best you can, and treat the injuries and dress them if you have supplies. And if you end up hurting yourself too bad, please please please tell someone. I hope you manage to feel better without hurting yourself soon. I started self harming recently, and I really wish I could go back to when I didn't. Stay safe, sending hugs 🫂🫂
ReplyOne thing that helps me is wearing a rubber band on my wrist. Whenever I get the urge to self-harm I just pull it and let it burn and snap onto my skin. It provides enough pain, but won't give you and infection and the scars aren't noticeable. Just pull it as far away from your wrist as you can and let it snap back.
ReplyI am not going to tell you to stop, because i know how it feels everytime someone said it to me. You cannot just stop. I always say you dont know what you are getting yourself into until its too late. Had to experience it myself. But try to do it as little as you can. Maybe an ice cube could help instead? If the urge is not too strong. And when you do it, please use clean utensils. And take care of the wounds. Signs of infection could be itching/pain/swelling, unusual redness, puss, or if it is taking longer than usual to heal. Then it might not be bad to get it checked out. I really hope you find better coping mechanisms. Also remember: the more wounds you have, the more your body has to work to heal. That means that it will take longer if your body has something to heal at all points given. Just please clean your wounds properly. And what has also been very helpful for me is finding a good therapist. I have been diagnosed with bpd recently, where self harm often is a symptom. She has helpec me through many dark periods. Days and weeks where i only could do what was necessary. And now that we better understand where the behaviours come from and why i am doing things tgat i am doing, it is easier to treat it properly. Because depression and anxiety for me have been big obstacles in the past years, but now i know that besides that and few other things, there is some other underlying thing that now i can face and get control over it.
