I don’t think the world is different or worse from what it was… I mean, everything is constantly changing and evolving, but I figured something out about the boomer mind, and it’s that in order to fabricate something in your mind that meets the requirements of what you consider good, especially in the realm of new things coming out, you need to create a sense of familiarity with it… like your mind needs to adjust to new things coming out, instead of you being stuck in the past and in the mind frame of “old was better.” You know how I realized this? There’s a channel I like that curates music for me… new music that is, and sometimes I found myself amazed at how looking at each album cover, and after finishing listening to the albums I felt like a sense of familiarity that yeah… good stuff is still coming out even in current years, and it never stopped. You’d be surprised how familiar things would become to you if you indulge into them more, instead of completely throwing it into the garbage the moment you put your eyes to it. No, old stuff is not necessarily better, and good stuff still keeps coming out; you just gotta get a feel for it. It’s like this weird mechanic of recognition the brain has, that suddenly an image or something could get attached to your mind.
