He is in prison for things he said and did. I know what he did was wrong, not just to me but to others. But I feel the need for closure. He is not supposed to contact me in any way. But I am going crazy with unanswered questions and emotions. Should I write to him or not?

If you are safe and willing, then go for it.I believe he may just have the answers to your questions.
ReplyIf the guy is in Jail for something he really did the best choice would be to keep them out of your life since they are a bad influence and you don't want them to drag you down do you? But, at the same time, if you need closure on something specific you don't want that playing on your mind forever....I would let them stew in jail until they start to miss the outside world properly and will be more likely to be properly forthcoming with a a straight and honest answer to what-ever it is you need closure about. Then after a year or so, you should ask them about it, and try and be as concise as possible in what you are saying, so you can get the closure you need.p.s. I hate people who break the law.
