I know he likes me, why lie ?

So I have this huge crush on my coworker , and I actually told him I like him, and he kinda said we can just be cool. The problem is that I've never been so confident that someone likes me. I know he does . He texts or snaps me everyday, we talk all day at work, we take walks, we joke all day, he doesn't get annoyed with me, he asks to do things outside of work (like eat, go to the movies, or shopping) , and he is always flirting with me.

What I think the problem is , he is 26 and I am 20. I don't see a problem with that but I know he does. I will never convert to his religion and I think he knows that and he is pretty serious about his religion. And we work together, our desks are right next to each other, everyone is a little scared of an office relationship.

So I guess since he doesn't like me, despite all signs, we will just stay friends , and go to the mall this Saturday, and keep smiling at each other and I'll keep catching you look at me and you'll catch me looking at you.

I guess I'm just asking for advice, I'm not gonna stay here and crush on him forever , but I have such a strong feeling he will admit he likes me.
