I moved half way across the country to take a big chance on working for a new company. It seems to have paid off. My career trajectory seems to have skyrocketed.
I've never lived in a big city before. And while I thoroughly enjoy it, I've really struggled to make any sort of connection with people. I had a lot of friends before I moved, and I haven't really made any since moving. I miss my old social circle a lot. I still stay in touch with them, but i fear if and when I return back to my old city to visit them, I will be overwhelmed by how little friends i have in my new home. I also worry that if I don't go back to my old city to visit them due to my reservations, then they might be offended and cut ties with me altogether. Which would ultimately be very harmful to my self esteem.
