Sitting in a restaurant with friends much more interested in their phones than in you, tagging you together at lunch, tagging you in the cinema. I don't want my life all over facebook. Sitting having my dinner only for the conversation to be stopped because someone has a text. Sitting in the cinema and seeing the couples and the friends looking on their phones rather than sitting talking to each other before the film or getting excited about new films to come out. Sitting in your house on your phone or your computer rather than engaging with your family and friends. Family time now turns into computer time or tablet time or phone time. What happened to sitting around a table eating dinner together having a conversation and listening to music? McDonalds have tablets now for children to go onto when waiting for their food, just adding to the addictiveness already ingrained in them, distracting them while eating or stopping them from enjoying their meal because they want to go back and finish a game. Computers have become the norm. Conversations gone unheard with the distraction of the bright screen, I don't want to have to go on social media to have a conversation with you when I'm sat next to you...I'm there to see you and speak to you not be ignored and feel out of place. 24 hours in a day and we find it hard to switch off the phone. Snapchat and Instagram filled with clips of concerts you should be enjoying and remembering not watching through your phone screen for everyone else to see. Holidays ruined with no internet access or phone service, be delighted with this, take that opportunity to take a walk and talk with your family. People upset because of something they see on Facebook but continue to look at things anyway. Headaches brought on by looking at the screen for too long, tablet time before bed making it harder for children to fall asleep causing problems to spiral out of control. Our addition is spiraling out of control, engage more with people than with your phone or computer screen. 24 hours in a day and only a small portion of that is spent with friends and family. Enjoy the time together as you have no idea how long they are going to be in your life. <3
