all my life I have dealt with things that a child and teenager should never have to deal with. life gives out bad hands sometimes, that doesn't mean we are bad or that our family is bad, its just that we got the bad cards this time. I'm an adult now and still suffer.
depression.
anxiety.
fear.
they don't always come hand in hand and they don't always over power our days.
i don't think a lot of people really understand what depression truly feels likes.
its not something you can self diagnose. its not something fun to say because you're upset that your boyfriend of 6 months left you for someone else in high school.
its something you battle with. its that feeling in your gut that makes you never want to get out of bed, or makes you go from laughing to crying in .001 seconds. its full of anxiety because you want to get better, and fear that the medicine wont work or that people wont know how to treat you anymore if they find out that you have to go to therapy.
its a joke.
its a joke that kids use to get attention and then when theyre older they regret it because they actually see someone they love struggling
its a cry for help when we don't know how to handle the easiest tasks in life because well, i just don't have the energy to brush my hair today.
its hard to live life and not know whats wrong with you or how you an fix it.
its so hard to feel alone, but let me tell you..
it's okay to not be okay all the time.
its okay to reach out and ask for help.
if you are battling your own mind, I'm proud of you for getting up today, think of every little thing you do as an accomplishment, even if its just brushing your teeth.
you are loved and you are not alone.
