My earliest memory of using the internet was using the LimeWire Software. This had to be sometime in 2004 or later years when I was allowed to use the internet. I can remember that my grandmother had a dell home computer that was black with a thin screen. My sister was the leader of my internet discovery. My grandmother bought us both MP3 players to listen to music and my sister knew of LimeWire. She showed me how to search for music and upload it to my device. I remember being really excited to know that I could get free music on my MP3 player. This was around the same time most of my peers were using iPods and paying for their music. I enjoyed using LimeWire to get new music quickly and at no cost. Finally, after a few months of using LimeWire my grandmother noticed that her computer was acting differently. It had became slow and would sometimes shut down randomly. She realized that LimeWire was the cause of this. Eventually, she took her computer to the Geek Squad at Best Buy and they removed LimeWire from her hardware. After that, I was pretty sad because I no longer had a source of free music; so I began searching online for other software. I became unlucky and eventually learned to buy music online or just stuck to buying CD’s. To conclude, my first internet experience dealt with music, and I’m sure my last internet experience will be the same.
