Years ago, when I was seven, my family took a vacation to Colorado. Near the end of our stay, around midnight... something happened. I was asleep, then my dad ran into my room, yelling about how "they" were coming for us. He even dialed the freaking police, who took him to a hospital.
My mom explained to my brothers and I how our dad had taken some pills that made him in that mental state. And we believed her. But now, years later, I was out shopping with my mom. We were driving back, and the topic of the Colorado incident came up in our conversation. She confessed to me she hadn't told us the full truth, and then explained what really happened.
Now, short disclaimer: the drug marijuana is perfectly legal in Colorado, and can be sold in most stores.
But anyways, because we lived in a place where the drug wasn't legal, my dad wanted to now try it. My mom didn't want to, but she agreed to drive him to the store. He bought the drug, then took it. Now, marijuana is supposed to make you drowsy and peaceful, but my dad had a rare case where his body reacted so badly to the drugs to the point of turning crazy. And the side effects of the drug apparently kicked in around midnight.
There's five people in my family; my parents, my two brothers, and me. My older brother still thinks that my dad consumed pills to put him in that state, and my younger brother, (who was alive and with us on vacation when we went to Colorado) forgot the whole thing because his mind was so young.
Now, I'm the only child who knows, and I have no intentions on telling any person IRL. I'm only writing this to vent, because I honestly have no clue what to do.
