Having trouble finding decent work with my criminal background. I've been out of work for going on 2 months now. I keep telling myself that everything happens for a reason--that something will come along when the time is right. The problem is that I don't know when the right time is. It seems like people just keep feeding me excuse after excuse. They keep giving me a start date, then delaying the start date because of the background check. Then they come back and tell me that I'm not hired. It's quite frustrating and I don't know what to do. It would be easy just to walk into McDonald's and fill out an application, but I have a bachelor's degree that I need to pay off and McDonald's salary just would not pay that.
Part of me feels like the reason I can't find a job is because I'm supposed to be doing something else, like starting my own business or writing a book and selling that; however, I don't know anything about starting a business--let alone what kind of business I would start--and I feel like I would get halfway through the book months after writing and start over because I didn't like the story. Again, I wouldn't know what to write about anyway. I just hate being judged for who I was and not for who I am. Hopeless is the word.

I also feel hopeless looking for a job
But dont give up. Be honest when you apply about your background and just explain what happened and how youre diffrrnt. Someone will give u a chance.
Good luck
ReplyAre there any projects or groups near you that can help you get a job with your background? I'm not sure how it all works to be honest.
You should keep job hunting but it also sounds like you have an interest in writing, so maybe you should pursue that on the side also. You can learn how to write a book, but it's not small project. It takes time, patience and a lot of self criticism but if that's what you're interested in then go for it.
