How to tell someone from your family that you're depressed? I'm 19 now and I've been depressed for 5 years. My family has noticed that I'm kinda grumpy and slow and stuff but they've never asked if anything's wrong. I'm failing at college and it's only getting worse and I don't know what to do.

Tbh it’s more so how u deal with it. Sometimes even though you might me so unmotivated, you have to have that strength to go out and do something. Do whatever u want. Cause the more you sink in your depression and don’t do anything that worse it’s gonna get.!
ReplyI think getting everyone together and sitting them down to tell them that you need support is what you need to do. Ask for help and advice.
ReplyIt's just my opinion, but I think nobody really cares when other people are depressed. Even if they do, it's not like they can do anything that'll make you happier. That's just what I've learnt from my experience, I guess it may be different for everyone. Telling you're family you're depressed won't change anything. For me, depression just comes and goes, so I just have to sort of learn to deal with it. I know depression sucks, but uh... sometimes people blame for stuff that has nothing to do with depression on... depression. Such as "I'm failing school" and "I'm not eating healthy" or just use depression as a stupid excuse. I'm not saying that you're doing that, but I just hope this isn't the case. Go to a doctor. Get meds. Try solving your own problems for once.
Ok, I guess this comment seems like 'tough love' or whatever, buut... someone has to be there to say this. You can't have all your comments be filled with sympathy. I hope this serves as a LIGHT slap in the face. I hope things get better. Good luck or something.
